Fun and active art workshops paired with outdoor education

Kids and families exploring nature through their creativity and fun games in the forest at the foot of the mountains and by the river.

Busy playing creative games and looking at beautiful, fascinating pieces of art I didn’t really get the chance to take many pictures during the workshops I did with the kids in Forni di Sopra this summer. In teaching situations kids simply deserve all my attention.

The Workshops were so much fun though. We made art out of nature material we found in the forest. A highlight was definitely every time the treasure hunt. The maps designed by the other team. This increased not just the fun while searching the treasure but also the creativity while hiding it for the other group and finding a way to draw the surroundings exact enough to lead to the box filled with a surprise but also abstract enough to not be too easy and too elaborate to never finish the drawing in time.

To explore the forest and art through the eyes of kids is an extremely beautiful adventure and I love learning from the kids while teaching them new games and methods to explore the world around them.

Where art is concerned, it is the process of creating - exploring, discovering, and experimenting — that has the greatest value. Through self-expression and creativity, children’s skills will develop naturally, and their ability to create will soar.
